MEP Linnéa Engström, Vice-Chair of the Fisheries Committee and Rapporteur on European External Fishing Fleet, urges MEPs to vote for robust and ambitious reform of the Regulation governing the EU’s large external fishing fleet in Plenary, on February 2nd. In particular, Engström highlights the need to support a public database of authorised vessels, and the requirement for vessels to have a clean record of compliance in order to be authorised to fish outside EU waters.
